Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

In our class, we use positive reinforcements and incentives to motivate students to reach academic goals and demonstrate positive behaviors. Students earn class cash to spend at our class store when they are being responsible, respectful, and safe. We need high-interest items to stock our classroom store with. The students will love having the opportunity to purchase items like pens, and pencils. The little fidget toys will be very popular in the store as well!

All of these items will not only increase the positive behavior and choices taking place in my class, but they will assist in teaching the students financial management as well.

The students will be able to save, spend, count, and make changes with the goal of "purchasing" items from the class store. This will teach kids more than just financial literacy, but personal responsibility as well since they will be able to earn classroom money by being responsible in the classroom, and through doing their classroom job. With your help, we can provide my students with rewards and activities that will encourage and challenge them to make good choices both in school and in life, while growing their knowledge about financial literacy!
