Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students attend a specialized district high school and participate in a work-based program within the community. They serve breakfast and lunch to seniors at a senior center five days a week. They are hard working and enthusiastic about developing the skills that will help them in the real world after they graduate.

Aprons and hair nets will help the students perform their tasks without soiling their clothes while keeping food items safe.

The snacks will be used to encourage and refresh the students during the work day. The students also engage in academic learning and activities. The headphones will allow them to listen to assigned videos and other audio recordings without disturbing others.

Ms. Hackett will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 10.
