My Project

My preK students are curious and playful. They’re always ready to explore something new and love hands-on materials in the classroom. When 18 learners are hard at play, things can get a little chaotic. While fun is our motto, I don't want to over stimulate their growing brains.

I'd like to replace our group rug which has bright bold colors with one with colors that research shows are calming.

We use this space throughout the day for meeting for circle time, reading stories, practicing letters and sounds, playing games, solving puzzles and even eating snack. The Stain Blocker in the rug I've chosen is a must. I'm also replacing bright storage bins with these same calm colors. These will hold a variety of manipulatives to be displayed in the classroom. Finally, I'm requesting 2 beanbag seats in sage and sky blue for our reading corner. The seats will be added to a gray round rug to make the space more cozy.
